PHOENIX – The Giants’ goal every year is to win games and develop players. Longtime followers know they have waxed and waned in each endeavor over the years, with prospect growth often taking a back seat.
As the 2018 season grinds on, with the Giants at .500 for the 20th time since Opening Day, it becomes clearer by the game that development will jump into the forefront over the final two months.
The process can be painful and exhilarating at the same time, as it was in Saturday night’s 9-3 loss to the Diamondbacks, which left the Giants 56-56.
